One child in two does not like clowns, and is often scared of them. <\/span>Sometimes the same annoyance, if not terror, accompanies us even as adults. <\/span>Cinema and literature, then (but also the crime news, as we shall see) has not helped to make the figure of the clowns more pleasant and friendly. <\/span>An example above all? <\/span>Pennywise, the killer clown of the book- and film- by Stephen King: It. Literature and cinema have certainly not helped to overcome coulrofobia, or fear of clowns, indeed. <\/span>Stephen King, with his famous novel (which later became a film) IT, in which the clown Pennywise, an earthly personification of evil, returns from the past to sow death and terror in a peaceful American citizen, brought the phobia until then semi unknown in <\/span>monovision. <\/span>Making it, thanks to the mask of the now universally known killer clown, even more terrifying.<\/span><\/p>\n
