Nei testi sacri antichi prestare soldi con gli interessi era severamente proibito. Per gli Ebrei il prestito applicando gli interessi era accosentito soltanto verso le persone appartenenti ad altre religioni diverse dalla loro, i quali venivano chiamati “gentili” cioè Cristiani, Musulmani, etc..
Il Corano nella Sura 4 An Nisa v.160 riprende questo comportamento discriminatorio oltre che errato degli Ebrei, vietando l’usura a tutti, in modo universale e senza distinzioni.
Usura significato
L’usura (parola neolatina usata anche per definire l’applicazione illegale degli interessi finanziari) è la pratica consistente nel fornire prestiti a tassi di interesse considerati illegali, socialmente riprovevoli e tali da rendere il loro rimborso molto difficile o impossibile, spingendo perciò il debitore ad accettare condizioni poste dal creditore a proprio vantaggio, come la vendita a un prezzo particolarmente vantaggioso per il compratore di un bene di proprietà del debitore, oppure spingendo il creditore a compiere atti illeciti ai danni del debitore per indurlo a pagare.
La maledizione all’usuraio:
L’usuraio divori tutti i suoi averi
e gli estranei faccian preda del suo lavoro.

nessuno abbia pietà dei suoi orfani
– La sua discendenza sia votata allo sterminio,
nella generazione che segue sia cancellato il suo nome.

il peccato di sua madre non sia mai cancellato.

ed egli disperda dalla terra il loro ricordo.
