A Chinese brigade stationed in Tibet conducted exercises with the latest Type 15 tanks. The event took place in areas bordering India, where tension between the two countries was growing.

Fighting vehicles of this model have only recently entered service with the People’s Liberation Army, and recently they are being actively developed. The technique is regularly used in all kinds of training against a conditional opponent.

This time the “fifteenths” supported the attack of infantrymen in the mountains at an altitude of 4700 meters above sea level. At the same time, weather conditions sharply worsened at the compound training ground, the temperature dropped, and snow began to fall. Nevertheless, the PLA reported on the successful completion of all tasks.

Type 15, also referred to as the ZTQ-15, is often referred to as “mountainous” because it is designed to operate under the appropriate conditions. The tank weighs 36 tons, a 105-mm gun with automatic loader can use both conventional and guided ammunition. The modern fire control system is equipped with thermal imagers. Engine power – 1000 hp The maximum speed is up to 70 km / h. The crew includes 3 people.

Earlier, a 20-ton Type 62 armed with an 85-mm cannon was used for these purposes.

The Indian army, in turn, deployed its main battle tanks T-72M1 Ajeya and T-90C Bhishma closer to the disputed areas. They also show themselves well in the highlands.

According to military experts, large-scale military operations between the armies of the two nuclear states are fraught with very dangerous consequences, so it is necessary that the parties do everything necessary to peacefully resolve their problems.
